Scrimmage format & expectations
We assign teams using pinnies and swap players mid-scrimmage as needed to keep gameplay balanced and exciting.
Play like your opponents don't have health insurance! Play the ball, not the player.
Step off if you're injured or want a break. Don't wait for an official "water break"; grab water whenever.
If someone is clearly a beginner, give them a little extra space on defense and make sure to pass to them on offense.
Cleats and shin guards are optional.
We do throw-ins and corner kicks, but we ignore off-sides.
Once you've worn a pinnie, please don't put it back in the bag with the clean pinnies.
Do I need to get cleats? π€
Sneakers are fine for our scrimmages. If you're looking for cleats on the cheap, you may have luck with Play It Again Sports.
I'm nervous because I have little to no soccer experience π¬
Play anyway! We love helping new players blossom π·
Can I come watch? π
Spectators encouraged! This is a queer social space π
I'm busy on Tuesdays π
Nooooo π. But check out these other queer soccer groups in San Diego!
